Service terms

1. Who we are

Ride With Jay is a client-based snowboard coaching support service run by Justin Whalen. It helps riders and families track goals, notes, practice points, and progress. Ride With Jay is not a Holiday Valley product and does not sell Holiday Valley lessons, lift access, rentals, or resort services.

2. Requests and payment

Submitting the request form does not buy a lesson, reserve a Holiday Valley slot, or collect payment. If Ride With Jay is a fit, I will follow up with the proposed support plan and service fee details before anything is charged.

3. Cancellation policy

Before work begins: no charge unless a support plan and payment step are separately agreed to.

After support work begins: unused service-fee refunds or credits depend on the plan agreed to in writing. I will keep that policy plain before collecting payment.

Weather: Holiday Valley controls its own operations. Ride With Jay may adjust support timing around resort closures, family travel changes, or unsafe riding conditions.

Missed communication: if you stop responding after requesting support, I may release the pilot spot to another family.

4. Weather & resort closures

Holiday Valley makes its own resort-closure decisions. Ride With Jay does not control lift operations, lesson availability, instructor assignment, lift tickets, rentals, or resort policy.

5. Minimum age & guardianship

Riders under 18 need parent or guardian involvement for any support plan, video review, parent update, or stored progress notes.

6. Helmets & safety

Ride With Jay may suggest safety reminders, but all on-snow riding must follow resort rules, the Responsibility Code, and parent or guardian judgment for minors.

7. Media

Video or photo review is used only when allowed and consented to. Media is delivered privately. Public use requires separate written permission.

8. Liability

Snowboarding is inherently risky. Ride With Jay support notes do not replace resort instruction, parent supervision, personal judgment, or professional medical advice.

9. Insurance

Insurance, entity status, and final payment terms should be confirmed before any paid public pilot launches.

10. Intellectual property

Content on this site belongs to Ride With Jay. Do not republish without permission. Feel free to share individual pages by URL.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York. Any dispute that can't be resolved informally will be handled in the state or federal courts sitting in Cattaraugus County, New York.

12. Changes

I may update these terms. Material changes will be announced at the top of this page and, if you have an active support request, by direct email.
