Local's guide

Where I'd eat, sleep, and après.

I live here. I know these places well enough to tell you which ones are worth it and which ones aren't. No commissions, no affiliates — just honest picks. Book your trip around these.

Stay

Lodging

Four categories. Honest notes on each.

Eat

Dining

Sorted by what you need, not by stars.

Off the mountain

Rest days & rainy days

If the weather's soft, the board's off for a day, or you've got non-riding family along, here's what's nearby.

Spa

The Inn Spa

Small resort spa at the Inn at Holiday Valley. Book the post-riding deep-tissue — your legs will thank you.

Brewery

Ellicottville Brewing Co.

Walk-up tasting flights. Kids welcome. The IPA is legit.

Tubing

Holiday Valley Tubing Park

If someone in the group isn't riding, send them here. Two-hour sessions, great for non-riders and younger kids.

Shops

Washington Street walk

Compact downtown, ten-minute loop. Gear shops, candy, candles, used books. Good for an hour between lunch and dinner.

Nature

Allegany State Park

40 minutes south. Snowshoeing, Nordic trails, frozen lakes. A good rest-day if the sun pops out.

Night

Night skiing at HV

Mon–Sat until 10 PM. If you're on a multi-day and want a chill lap after dinner, I can run a 1-hour night session.
